Color laboratory & mindful workshops in Berlin
TonoLab was a collaborative color laboratory founded by us, Cecilia Galoppo and Eva Marina Burckhardt, two illustrators and educators united by a shared passion for color and visual storytelling.
We came from different corners of South America, our paths crossed in Berlin, and through intense, nerdy discussions about art history, from Klee and the Bauhaus to Albers and abstraction, our conversations gradually shifted toward creative practice.
What began as a shared curiosity evolved into a space for experimentation, reflection, and learning. We held workshops in gardens, urban spaces, and cozy interiors, inviting participants to explore color through observation, intuition, and theory, offering both a creative break and practical tools for artistic practice. Even though the project has now come to an end, it remains a vibrant exploration of collaboration, perception, and the quiet power of color.
Eva and Cecilia continue to explore and experiment on their own, if you’re interested in these topics, feel free to reach out to either of us: evaburckhardt@gmail.com • hola@ceciliagaloppo.com
